GrandFather Clock
Time is a concept that seemed a distant philosophy until the inventions of the earlier time contraptions such as the sundial and hourglass. Yet, these inventions were open to the public. So, time wasn’t hidden only for the rich, for once! However, the grandfather clock – a piece of fine machinery that acts as decoration for the rich that individuals were on a pursuit to attain in order to keep up appearances back in the middle ages, was in contrast a privilege for only those that could afford it. The grandfather clock was most unique in its design through the use of the pendulum swinging back and forth as its time keeping element, whilst being coated in the finest (at the time) wood. In fact, the design was specifically created as a large piece of furniture, with oak that could keep the entity of the house itself.
