GrandFather Clock

Time is a concept that seemed a distant philosophy until the inventions of the earlier time contraptions such as the sundial and hourglass. Yet, these inventions were open to the public. So, time wasn’t hidden only for the rich, for once!
However, the grandfather clock – a piece of fine machinery that acts as decoration for the rich that individuals were on a pursuit to attain in order to keep up appearances back in the middle ages, was in contrast a privilege for only those that could afford it. The grandfather clock was most unique in its design through the use of the pendulum swinging back and forth as its time keeping element, whilst being coated in the finest (at the time) wood. In fact, the design was specifically created as a large piece of furniture, with oak that could keep the entity of the house itself. Yet, the main attribute about the grandfather clock is the essence of family and the past it carries, automatically bestowing a sense of mystery confined within the oak pieces of plank. Given it is a primal form of time keeping compared the gear s watch, it is still utilised in many blockbuster movies when concerning treasure hunting, travelling to the past and even horror due to a story already being etched in to every clock.
